This old-school unsanforized denim from Cone Mills sews up like no other. The combination of inky blue warp with deep beige tinted weft makes for a brilliant vintage look.We recommend sizing 2-3 up from your normal Gustin size for this pair.
Gustin jeans made from unsanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest Cone Mills in North Carolina. A story we often hear from our customers is "I remember when I was a kid and used to soak my jeans in the bath tub and then they'd shrink way down to fit me." Denim was a process. Although today's raw denim certainly requires break-in, it's more controlled. So, sometimes it's nice to get your hands on a true throw-back denim. This one starts with an incredibly inky blue warp - rich and dark, the way old-school denim should be. The weft really adds character. It has a strong beige tint, giving the fabric a subtle antique finish that shows though the top surface. At 12 ounces it's right in the sweet spot for wearability and a thick ID with red ticker finishes it off. It's just beautiful fabric all-around. This fabric has not undergone the sanforization process which is used to greatly reduce shrink. You get to buy big, soak them, and get them molded to your body. We recommend sizing 2-3 up to account for this shrink, which is based on a 30 minute cold soak and hang dry. We're using our loomstate marker than has 2" longer inseams than standard to accomodate this. If you want to really do it old school you can wear them around wet to make sure they don't shrink up too much during drying. Denim like the old days at great value.
