Sometimes you just look at a fabric and can instantly see it's special. That's how we felt with this substantial flannel. When you dig deeper, you realize it's the play of color, pattern and feel that all add up to that instant appreciation.
This style uses cotton cloth from one of the finest mills in Japan. Some fabric just grabs you. It's the color, the pattern, the feel. You instantly want it and know it will look amazing on. That's the short story with this great flannel. The contrast of dark indigo, crisp bright white and royal blue creates the perfect balance of richness and vibrancy. The classic small box plaid pattern makes sure that each color is there in just the right amount. The weight is solid at six ounces, while not being over bearing. The icing on the cake is that only the top surface is brushed, while the back is not. This creates a very subtle contrast of textures when you cuff the shirt, revealing a smooth back against the textured top. It's one of those small details you really appreciate when you wear this shirt.
Our fit starts with a beautifully tailored body, not too slim, but definitely fitted. High armholes keep the body lines clean. The length hits just right so it looks great always. Scooped out sides give the untucked look a bit of extra style. A traditional button down collar is secured with two side buttons and one back and has a nice soft roll.
We labor over every construction detail. Extensive single needle stitching is used throughout. All our closures are made from true mother of pearl. A finely folded locker loop sits over a box pleat on the back yoke. The front placket is also pleated, made the right way, using a true two piece construction. The feel is more substantial and the effort higher, but it's the right way. An angular chest pocket completes the front. Our cuffs are double button with rounded corners.
