Our highest silk content selvedge denim yet, this version from Japan is for the purist who wants something extra special and extremely rare in his denim collection.
Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest mills in Japan. By now you know just how rare silk blend denim is. That never stops us from asking all our favorite mills if they're making any. Finally, we got a yes from Japan and it's a winner. Sometimes our silk denim really hits you over the head (think the IndigoxRed), but this time it's the subtlety of the composition that really makes this denim shine. On the surface it's utterly classic. A rich, deep indigo warp is contrasted with a white weft for a traditional denim look. The silk adds a wonderful character to this denim that you don't usually get. It starts with just the slightest bits of fiber sitting on the top surface -- the silk asserting itself in the most unassuming way. The feel of this denim is where the silk really makes its mark. This denim is both dense and very supple. You can begin to image how soft this selvedge will get over time. It's destined to become your most comfortable pair.
*Note unlike most brands we don't use vanity sizing for our pants. If you're a first time customer we highly recommend checking out our fit guide.
