This selvedge denim officially crosses into the ultra-rare category. It's our first style to use bamboo fibers and the result is one you don't want to miss. The mill in Japan is weaving this fabric specifically for us and we're offering it a true value for a denim of this type.
As a denim company that's used over 300 different styles, we're always excited to get a first in. Bamboo certainly qualifies. There are some technical reasons why mills incorporate Bamboo into fabric and we like those reasons but also love the way this fiber imparts a totally unique texture to this denim.
The warp is an incredibly dark, midnight-blue -- a great starting point. An 11.5 ounce weight and nice starch create a good balance between a classic raw denim feel and light weight comfort. The weft makes this denim absolutely special. Bamboo is incorporated into the weft yarns. You see the fibrous bamboo punctuating the top surface everywhere lending a hairiness unlike any other denim we've run. Even cooler is that the weft yarn is strongly beige tinted. You see this color powerfully on the back side of the fabric, but it also lends a yellow cast to the dark blue surface. This fibers poking through the top also carry this tint. This is just one of those crazy special selvedge denims that's a privilege to own and enjoy.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.
*Note unlike most brands we don't use vanity sizing for our pants. If you're a first time customer we highly recommend checking out our fit guide.
