#467 Midnight Monster ID

Raw denim is a project. It's a piece of art that evolves in time each day you own it. It responds to each crease, each scrape, each movement. That's why that starting point is so important and that's what's most special about this new selvedge we discovered in Japan. It uses indigo dye on the warp and then a finishing sulfur dye process to make the warp into one of the darkest, richest midnight blues we've seen. There is even a subtle green/beige cast added during the sulfur dye step to make the color different than most. The result is one of the deepest surface colors we've seen. You still get all the raw denim touch points as well, from just enough white weft show-through, a distinct crispiness from the starch and a nice visible grain line. To really put this one over the top, the mill added a monster ID with a thick red channel bordered by thin white. It's a nice touch on a great selvedge denim.
