Thick rope-like strands of cotton and linen woven into big weight and even bigger texture fabric that pays homage to a historically significant sewing technique. These are the Japan Sashiko 5 Pockets.
The inspiration for this style is the traditional Sashiko sewing technique. Used as a functional sewing technique for repairs and for decorative effects Sashiko respected for its handmade style, prominent stitching and patterning effects. This style uses a Dobby weave to recreated the prominent stitch and geometric lines and then dials up the texture to absolutely beautiful levels. Imagine the plushest rope interlaced together to create a hand woven look, huge texture and flowing feel. The blend of cotton and linen makes for ideal warm weather wear while the 10 ounce weight gives these pants real substance.
