#1 USA Chino Short - Olive

These Gustin Chino Shorts are made from cotton twill from one of the finest mills in the USA. By now you know how important fabric is to us. We think it’s the centerpiece of a great garment and we’ve made it the focus of our entire company. Making a truly great pair of shorts requires the same great fabric as our best selvedge denim. It starts with weight. Shorts are for hot weather, and you want to simply feel at ease when you put them on. To us, a tightly woven, 5 ounce twill is the absolute sweet spot. This version is light, finely woven and dense. It retains a toughness, but the second you put the shorts on you feel good. To make this fabric even sweeter, we garment dye and wash each short. There is no better way to soften the shorts and give them an authentically lived in feel. This processing also lightly ages the the color, in this case a nicely muted green that's vintage and rugged - admittedly the office favorite. You can see highs and lows on the seams that make you feel as if you've owned this pair of shorts well for years. Overall, this is just the perfect twill for shorts.

We spent a lot of time perfecting the fit and construction of our shorts. They are tailored and comfortable. We really focused on getting the right drape, including a nicely tapered leg so that they look fitted. An inseam at 9” provides a middle ground on length. Construction is done the right way throughout: full two piece waistband, two welt back pockets (one with a flap closure to keep things secure), inset coin pocket in front, taped seams, YKK zip fly and our custom Corozo button on top.
