One of the first unwaxed canvases we used in our jacket line, the Army Canvas from Japan is one of the best. Vintage green shade and a substantial yet breathable material make this an all year winner.
This chore coat uses cotton duck canvas from one of the finest mills in Japan. If the sample we made mysteriously disappears from our office, you know who to look for. It just feels incredible on. The first time you put it on you notice its perfectly weighted at 10oz's and carries a solid feel but maintains a very soft hand. Oh, and did we mention it breathes really well? The color is stunning. The pale army green shade looks just slightly lived in and will get even better over time. The color works with all kinds of denim.
The overall style pays respect to the long tradition of chore coats - functional and understated. As usual, we give our version a more tailored body and make sure the length hits in just the right spot in the middle of your back pockets. It has two full hand pockets on the lower front, each single needle stitched with bar-tacks for added strength. Up top, there is one chest pocket left open and secured with custom Gustin rivets. The other chest pocket receives a flap with button closure. Both are also single needle construction. An inside chest pocket lets you tuck away your wallet or phone. Flat felling is used on main seams and all pockets are clean finished.
Jackets like ours that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $260 or higher. The efficiency of the Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
