One of the first unwaxed canvases we used in our jacket line, this sanded canvas from the USA is a perfect match for our Chore Coat. A vintage army green shade and a substantial yet breathable material make this an all year winner.
This chore coat uses cotton duck canvas from one of the finest mills in the USA. We wanted this version to be wearable, clean and a huge value. We think we did all three with this version. It starts in the USA, with a tightly woven duck canvas. This fabric gets a special micro-sanded treatment that leaves it with the most gloriously peached surface. It feels almost like felt to the touch, a very unusual thing for a solid canvas. At 9 ounces, it's instantly comfortable and the all-cotton breathability makes it more versatile across seasons. It just feels great on. The color is a soft, vintage army green.
The Chore Coat pays respect to the long tradition of this style - functional and understated. Our version has an updated, cleanly tailored body with a length that hits in just the right spot, in the middle of your back pockets. It has two full hand pockets on the lower front, each single needle stitched with bar-tacks for added strength. Up top, there is one chest pocket left open. The other chest pocket receives a flap with button closure. Both are also single needle construction. An inside chest pocket lets you tuck away your wallet or phone. Flat felling is used on main seams and all pockets are clean finished.
Jackets like ours that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $260 or higher. The efficiency of the Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
