Huntsman Jacket - Waxed Dark Oak

The classic hunting jacket is an icon. Originally built to be a rugged garment with function, durability and warmth in mind. The details flowed from those basic requirements. Those are the key details we call back to. We start with a rounded, compact collar. It gets lined with a soft corduroy. It stands neatly and is comfortable against your neck. Re-enforced shoulder patches wrap front to back. Four large stash pockets define the front of the jacket - ample storage was a key feature of the originals. The interior gets a full lining with a warm, luxuriously soft black-red buffalo check flannel. Two interior stash pockets are present for more storage. Finally, cuffs receive rounded flaps and the comfort of additional corduroy backing. The package pays respect to the key elements of the originals while presenting a tight, streamlined package for today. Our fit is also more considered. We're more likely to wear ours for daily excursions around town, so the shape is more tailored. 

Waxed canvas is the perfect match for our Huntsman - a blend of rugged functionality and style. It's beautiful from the start and ages gracefully. It has a plain weave and a solid 13.5oz weight, giving it a good body while not feeling bulky in jacket form. The waxed coating makes things much more interesting: the fabric ages uniquely to you, just like finely tanned leather. Each crease, each bend, and each event in your life changes the texture and color. It scars and marks as the wax gets rubbed and displaced, becoming slightly lighter in those areas. It’s truly a thing of beauty.
