Vintage selvedge denim with a unique characteristic - it's specifically designed to hold color instead of fade. Meet the Reactive Dyes from Japan.
Usually raw selvedge denim is about evolution. It's about the way indigo dye leaves the surface of the fabric over time to create a rainbow of new blue shades as the denim becomes unique to you. However, this time, one of our favorite mills in Japan took a different path. It decided to create two totally unique colors and fix them in the fabric. It's a different approach, but equally nice. Of course, starting with great color is critical. Reactive dye is used, which is designed to hold color. This version is a bright blonde wood. Fresh, bold color that offers a nice change of pace from dark indigo. All the great vintage selvedge ingredients back these colors up - a starchy finish, slubby vertical grain throughout and green ID. This is a new take on a classic.
