Vintage selvedge denim, perfectly saturated with inky indigo dye. It's been way too long since we've found a double indigo style from Japan and as you can see, it doesn't disappoint.
Running over 400 different styles of selvedge gives us a broad view into the range styles that can be crafted in our favorite fabric. A few really stand out. The double indigo is one. It has everything we love about raw denim with a style that can be both perfectly rugged or nicely formal. This one starts with an ideal 13 ounce weight, a solid dose of starch and a classic red ID. There's no mistaking this for anything but great raw selvedge denim. The extra deeply indigo dyed warp and weft is transformative. It creates the most solid wall of beautiful indigo dye imaginable. Pair it with a t-shirt and it's a classically rugged look. Wear it with a nice button down and it takes on a nicely formal look of a finer pant. Either way you wear it, it's the type of fabric that will evolve into something truly special with wear.
