The selvedge sweetspot embodied a new denim from Japan -- the Classic Indigo Superlight.
There is an unresolved debate in the office around what the most versatile raw selvedge denim weight really is. Granted, once you start building a raw collection, you tend to have a range of options across the weight spectrum, so you don't have to pick just one. However, what we did agree on is that the 10 ounce range offers a unique blend. When done right, like the versions we have for you today, this weight can capture a true raw denim spirit while still having real wearability on day one. You get enough heft and body for ruggedness. When starched well like these examples you instantly detect the vintage raw roots. The yarn is thick enough to capture a true denim look. Dyed right, in true dark indigo, crossed with crisp white weft, the composition is spot on. Putting it all together, you get a solid argument for an ideal blend of authentic raw style and real usability. We like it, and these examples are two of our best superlight values, so it's even easier to give this weight class a try.
