A rare khaki selvedge base gets a top coat of dye to create a special two tone selvedge. From the masters in Japan, these are the Top Dye Selvedges.

Mills in Japan are masters at deploying craftsmanship in refreshingly new ways. They always start with a great base. In the case of these styles a solid khaki twill. Even better, it's a selvedge version, making it just that much sweeter. Now comes the special addition. The top surface gets a top coat of pigment dye, transforming the color of the fabric face to unusual off-white eggshell. Cuff them and you see the full khaki color on the back. Wear them well and the top color will fade softly to allow the khaki base to make itself known. This is one of the more unusual styles outside of the indigo world that lets you transform the pant to make it truly unique to you.
