This denim was the first find that came from our global search for selvedge. We had a feeling it would make for a stunning pair of denim. Based on the response it has received it seems we're all in agreement. The Rainbow Selvedge. Enjoy it and wear it well.
Finding great fabric that you likely will never see anywhere else is one of the most unique parts of GUSTIN. A specialty denim mill in China has deftly combined classic, quality raw selvedge roots with an absolute explosion of color. The classic roots start in the warp. A dark midnight indigo. It's as deep a starting point as you can find. Starchy and rugged, the 12 ounce weight is a middle ground we've come to respect for its balance of usability and toughness. The weft is where things take a bold and colorful turn. A range of colored yarns is deployed to create a vivid rainbow effect on the backside of the fabric. The colors change slightly with each batch. The pictures tell the full, glorious story. You definitely see the rainbow glowing through the top as well, but it's not overpowering. The balance is just right - special but not screamingly loud. Finding this in a 100% cotton, selvedge composition makes it even more special. Enjoy this one.

"Very very lovely jeans. First expensive pair of raw denim. Such a cool model and I'm excited to see how they fade!
My only complaint is i wish a different cut with a higher rise would have been available at purchase. I really like the wrangler cowboy cuts and like how they fit. I have been informed that a model does have a higher rise available (i think it's the 1968 vintage model) and I wish a similar cut was available for this model."

"1st selvage and I took a risk on the rainbow being too flashy, but it really isn't. Looks mostly like a normal jean unless you point it out to someone because you can see the colors up close. Very well made, and I was impressed by the seams. I would not tolerate anything skinnier and they barely fit over my boots.
If I could change anything it would be, at least one more belt loop if not two. And I would like a bootcut offering. Probably will buy another pair less flashy."

"The production and shipping speed was a nice surprize - just a week or so upon closing the campaign.
Well, these appeared somewhat darker than I expected, almost black, can't wait to wash them to see the rainbow colours breaking through.
One tiny little thing: the left leg is just 3-5 mm narrower than the right leg, which is super important for someone with larger calves, like me. Wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
All the rest is just fine, great fabric, will surely soften after the first wash. Look gorgeous and elegant. Happy with the purchase."
