Thick rope-like strands are woven into a highly textured fabric that pays homage to a historically significant sewing technique. To make it even more special, it's a selvedge composition. The Gunmetal Sashiko Selvedge.

The inspiration for this style is the traditional Sashiko sewing technique. Used as a functional sewing technique for repairs and decorative effects, Sashiko is respected for its handmade style, prominent stitching and patterning effects. This style uses a Dobby weave to recreate the prominent stitch and geometric lines and then dials up the texture to absolutely beautiful levels. A highly wearable 8 ounce weight lends this version true versatility. The color is very unusual and rich - a gunmetal grey. Finally, a double wide, white selvedge ID shows off the truly rare form of this fabric. From style to real technique, this is a good one.

"It's a really cool fabric, but nearly flat and much slower to wear compared to the monster sashikos, which I adore. It's pretty light at 8oz, and without the insulating volume of the monster versions, this is definitely a warm weather pant. The picture color is accurate; it's a slightly warm, relatively matte grey with a touch of reddish purple. A great addition for me, my new go to grey summer jeans. Less stretch than 12 oz flat denim, so consider sizing up.
Be aware, as usual, that Gustin measurement tolerances are looser than the industry average for the garments they're trying to create (1/2" vs pure blue's 7mm), so these can come small or large within a size."
