We love fabric with history. Originally from the western part of Scotland, this now iconic pattern was popularized in the USA by an American shooting club that adopted it as its uniform of choice. The pattern itself is composed of interlocking channels that form a grid - not too big, not too small. This originally served as a subtle type of camouflage for hunting purposes. The base fabric combines wool for a rustic hand, nylon for durability and alpaca for luxury. The feel when on is hefty, yet full of volume. This shirt is sewn up in our new Rugged style. It's designed to be the perfect style for our heavier, more rustic fabrics we run. It's a bit more casual, without being over the top. This style is set off by three key design cues: a perfectly sized collar without buttons, two clean button closures, and rounded chest pockets. These three elements lend the style a more casual look while their clean implementation keeps the shirt versatile. A simpler back yoke replaces the box pleat and locker loop of our Classic style. Intricate stitching tacks down the collar stand. The Rugged style inherits the same core fit block from the updated Classic style. The moment we sewed up some flannels and heavy jacquards in this style we knew it was right.
