#1303 Beach Shirt - Purple Haze

Cool coastal mornings. Sunny, wind swept afternoons. This is the setting that inspired the Beach Shirts. They represent a classic style infused with a patina that captures years of wear and the way it transforms a fabric into a personal work of art. A big, retro plaid pattern gets crafted using top-dyed yarns. This allows for a soft, faded appearance to the colors as if they've been slightly sun-bleached. A hefty 8 ounce base and slub yarn make for a hand-made, rustic look. The finishing touch is a heavy brushing on the surface which begins to almost break down the fabric for a true lived in look and feel. The overall package is flowingly soft and full of character.

This shirt is sewn up in our new Rugged style. It's designed to be the perfect style for our heavier, more rustic fabrics we run. It's a bit more casual, without being over the top. This style is set off by two key design cues: a perfectly sized collar without buttons, two clean button closures, and rounded chest pockets. These two elements lend the style a more casual look while their clean implementation keeps the shirt versatile. A simpler back yoke replaces the box pleat and locker loop of our Classic style-intricate stitching tacks down the collar stand. The Rugged style inherits the same core fit block from the updated Classic style. We knew it was right the moment we sewed up some flannels and heavy jacquards in this style.
