A small batch Japanese earth tone denim meets the Gustin Workshirt. A cousin fabric to the Rust Brown version this one is an equally ideal match for our vintage workshirt style as the photos show. We're pretty excited to be able to offer you a value like this on what remains one of our most intricately constructed, American made garments. This is the Japan Stone Workshirt for $99.
When Japan experiments with denim, we get excited. The control and mastery the best mills in there show over details from yarn to color are why we continue to hold Japan out as the best workwear fabric maker in the world. This one is another example. The warp is a deep metallic grey that reminds of smooth stones. It gets paired with a traditional white weft. It's a rugged look and a ideal contrasting color to pair with classic indigo denim jeans. There is a subtle slub to the yarn, creating a nicely pronounced vertical grain - a great setup for wear-in and a sign that extra thought has been given to texture in this fabric. Slightly lower starch enhances comfort in otherwise solid 10 ounce fabric. This is a timeless and versatile workshirt at a stellar value.
There are a number of construction details that define our workshirt. The first is ample triple needle work with a classic chain stitch runoff. Triple needle is a specialized stitch not found on a standard button downs and that serves as the heart of any good work shirt. Ours gets triple need flat felled yoke and side seams with chain stitched bottoms. We also allow the side seam chain stitch to “runoff” the end giving you three chain stitch ends on each side. We bar tack to ensure the runoff can’t compromise the security of the side seam. The second detail is double chest pockets. We keep ours a bit cleaner, without flaps, but use button closures and double bar tacks in each corner for added strength. The left chest pocket gets the addition of a small pen slot. The third detail is side hem gussets. It’s a small functional element and looks absolutely great. Finally, we love the chin strap. Ours is small enough to be tasteful while still reminding you of the work wear roots of the garment. We created new custom Corozo buttons specifically for our work shirts. Overall, this is one of our most intricately constructed garments and one of the most costly to produce.
Our workshirts will be available in our Classic and Slim fits.
"I really love Gustin. I just don't think I'd choose another brand at any price point. And I love watching for new products/return of old favs. But a very important part of the experience is the great customer service."

"I wanted to tell you how much I love the rainbow nep natural t-shirts. After over a year of trying to find my everyday t-shirt, this is finally it. I have four of them now and they are basically all I wear."
