All-American colors wrapped in a totally new herringbone package.
The herringbone weave is one of our favorites. It has the ability to lend a fabric a huge amount of depth and character without being overbearing. That's exactly what comes through with this new shirting from Japan. The base is a tight herringbone weave. On top of that is layered a classic plaid in all-American colors of red, white and blue. From a distance you just see great colors and pattern. Get a bit closer and the richness of the herringbone weave jumps out, giving the entire shirt much more texture and life. Add to that a beautifully brushed surface that lends a bit of fuzziness and you have one of our favorite shirts.
This shirt is sewn up in our new Rugged style. It's designed to be the perfect style for our heavier, more rustic fabrics we run. It's a bit more casual, without being over the top. This style is really set off by two key design cues: a perfectly sized collar without buttons and two clean button closure, rounded chest pockets. These two elements lend the style it’s more casual look while their clean implementation keeps the shirt versatile. A simpler back yoke replaces the box pleat and locker loop of our Classic style. Small gusset tabs adorn the bottom hem and intricate stitching tacks down the collar stand. The Rugged style inherits the same core fit block from the updated Classic style. The moment we sewed up some flannels and heavy jacquards in this style we new it was right.
