#864 Japan Wool Nep Big Twill - Midnight

When Japan takes on shirting, it brings the same level of care and artistry usually reserved for selvedge denim. The result is a level of character you rarely find. This season we have some stellar examples. Today's is about dialing up every ingredient to be bold. It starts with a big 10 ounce weight. True heft for to create a rugged feel. That weight is expertly balance in a loose twill weave which keeps it flowing and wearable. The twill line is big and visible adding more depth. Near equal parts wool and cotton lend warmth and comfort. Putting the this shirt over the top is the use of colorful high nep yarns. Each base color gets a perfect color pairing neps which explode from the surface. Midnight gets cobalt, yellow, orange, red, and teal neps. These are the special styles that truly set Japan shirting apart.

This shirt is sewn up in our new Rugged style. It's designed to be the perfect style for our heavier, more rustic fabrics we run. It's a bit more casual, without being over the top. This style is really set off by two key design cues: a perfectly sized collar without buttons and two clean button closure, rounded chest pockets. These two elements lend the style it’s more casual look while their clean implementation keeps the shirt versatile. A simpler back yoke replaces the box pleat and locker loop of our Classic style. Intricate stitching tacks down the collar stand. The Rugged style inherits the same core fit block from the updated Classic style. The moment we sewed up some flannels and heavy jacquards in this style we knew it was right.
