#163 Cobalt Indigo Kersey

We started GUSTIN to focus on classic styles that use fabrics with true history. Selvedge denim was the start, but as we've explored, we've been able to uncover other fabrics with old roots that you rarely find in use today. The Kersey we have today is a stellar example. This weave dates back to medieval England, where it was typically found in coarse, rugged wools. The most striking feature is the monstrous twill line. Our version keeps this defining characteristic surrounded by more refined ingredients. This twill line is a thing of beauty. Its thickness is something you both see and feel. It creates a raised texture unlike any other fabric we've used. You can see and feel the depth. The 9 ounce weight and all cotton composition yield a soft hand, makes the pants fit and feel great. Finally, you get a beautiful cobalt indigo finish. The indigo dye bath changes with each batch. Indigo color can vary and is part of the process. The color will lighten with time and wear.
