Today we have our latest specialty knit from Japan. The moment we saw it, it screamed old-school cool and we paired it with our classic Polo to make it more versatile. The Japan Block Band Polos.
Beverly Hills Hotel, 1950s pool scene? That's what came to mind when our partner mill in Japan sent us this one. Retro cool to the core. The style stems from true quality construction. It starts with an extra sturdy and plush 13 ounce weight. It feels sturdy and flowingly soft. The unique construction creates a prominent rib-like texture. That's the perfect setup for the true star, the banded block patterns of color that contrast the pure nature base. This is the good stuff. Pair it with chino shorts or some extra dark raw selvedge.
The foundation is the iconic Polo shirt and we dial in all the details while bringing them up to today's standards. A perfectly sized collar, mother of pearl buttons and a classic tennis tail are all built around a nicely tailored fit that is clean but not too slim.
