Ripstop is designed to resist tearing by incorporating reinforced threads into the weave in a grid pattern. You see that subtle grid in this fabric and know it's ready to do it's job. It also lends a textured pattern and a slightly more modern look to these Joggers. The 9.75 ounce weight puts them right in the sweetspot - usable but durable. The value makes them hard to resist.
