One of our favorite mills in Japan that focuses on reproduction styles was inspired by iconic hard wearing baggy chinos favored by skaters. We take this fabric and treat it to our timeless 5 Pocket style to create an ideal blend of rugged and refined. The Skater Twill 5 Pockets.
Twills often focus on comfort and color but are not rooted in a specific origin story. Not in this case. Japan used the iconic baggy skater chino and recreated the retro twills used in that style. Classic, but rugged, this version starts with a hefty 10 ounce base weight. A 3x1 construction yields a very well defined twill line and a slightly more rugged look. A blend of hard wearing, durable tencel and cotton is used. The overall feel is sturdy and just a touch crisp - a nod to the throwback inspiration and its ability to take on a few spills (ones most of us won't endure in these chinos). Our 5 Pocket style adds the classic look and versatility to put this fabric to the test. Rugged and refined, made in the USA.
