Firsts are always a fun thing at Gustin. This is literally the first khaki selvedge we've seen from Cone Mills and we were lucky enough to snag some of it for you. From the classic denim construction to the earthy and complex brown color, this is truly a rare American selvedge you need in your collection.
We often think of Cone as producing some incredibly solid, classic selvedge denim. They certainly do that, but every once in a while there's a little time on the loom for them to experiment. If we're really lucky we can get a hold of some of these more unusual styles. To us it's like striking gold. It's fun to offer something that will likely never be available again. It's even better when the fabric is as beautiful as this style. This one is all about color. The warp on this style is the riches earthy brown. There are subtle hints of green to it as well that really make the color strikingly more complex. The crisp white weft helps it retain classic denim roots and there is nice starchiness to give a true raw feel. The overall look is rugged and vintage while at the same time just totally different than a traditional blue denim. It's a refreshing change.
As any true denim fan will admit, it's just cool to know you're wearing a style that almost nobody else in the world will have. That is exactly what you have with the Cone Khaki Selvedge.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.
