To set the stage, finding any wool selvedge denim is almost impossible. Most mills don't offer it or even want to make it. Wool is extremely expensive. When we set out to find a real stand-out wool selvedge denim we had a few key requirements. The first was that the wool content had to be high so that it truly influenced the character and feel of the denim. The weft yarn is 100% wool. Despite the cost, this composition is well worth it. The moment you touch this fabric you know it's different. You detect the tell-tale fibrous wool feel instantly. Putting them on, you notice the drape is slightly different than all cotton denim, just a bit more flowing. You feel the wool against your skin, but it's not abrasive. Next, we wanted true heft, and this 16 ounce version is substantial and tough, exactly what you want in a pair you'll wear for years. Finally, we selected a saturated indigoxindigo. The all wool weft takes the indigo dye uniquely creating a slight heather effect to the back of the fabric. This is one of those rare opportunities to experience something new in denim form.
