We took one look at this knit from Japan and instantly thought old-school - 1950s grade school, pedal-brake bikes, paper routes. One touch lets us know the feel is as good as the style—the 50s Triple Stripe T-Shirts.
While the stripe might be what hits you first, we will start with the base fabric. It's the ultimate combination we look for in a jersey. Heavy and incredibly soft. At 10 ounces, this is one of the heaviest jerseys we've run. It has real substance. That heft is perfectly balanced by a truly plush finish from high quality 100% cotton yarn. It's a pleasure to wear, not delicate, and very comfortable. The stripe is the star. It just instantly screams retro in the best way possible. Great color combinations are the finishing touch. The hard part will be picking your favorites.
Construction details are classic and sturdy. We start with a double stitch binding collar around the neck. Double needle hems finish the sleeves and bottom and a slightly narrower gauge is used to lend a small element of refinement.
