Introducing the Army Trainer. Inspired by a heritage sneaker style, built from the finest materials and made by the best craftsmen in the world. The sneaker's sleek profile and clean lines make it a versatile shoe for any casual wardrobe.
Like many of the styles worn today, the Army Trainer rose from a military issue into a modern day look. Originally designed in the 1970s as a training shoe, the sneaker was designed for both comfort and speed. The sneaker's leather upper allows the shoe to break in and form perfectly to your foot while the textured sole offers much needed traction for variable weather conditions.
We stay true to the shoe's styling roots, while using the highest quality materials. For the upper, we're using two Italian leathers, giving the shoe a clean yet dynamic look. A combination of black leather and black suede, create a beautiful contrast of materials. The sneaker is finished with an Italian-made rubber gum sole with a traditional tread, providing the iconic contrast that sets this style apart. This classic combination makes for a minimalist style that you can dress up or dress down, making it a solid choice for countless occasions.
The sneakers are constructed by hand in the Tuscany region of Italy by a group of craftsmen who have been making shoes since 1901. They have perfected their craft to the point where the industry's biggest and best names, including Lanvin, use them for production. All leather is die cut one hide at a time. Single needle stitching is used to construct the uppers. Custom lasting creates the sleek Gustin shape. An Italian-made gripped rubber sole is cemented internally to the upper. A leather-lined removable footbed is embossed with the Gustin logo. These are time honored techniques taken to the highest level.
Sneakers made in Italy to our quality level, that finally get the styling right and that use only the highest quality materials carry incredibly high price points. The Gustin model allows us to offer you a radically better value.
Gustin sneakers follow European sizing and run slightly larger than some US sizes. If you typically wear a US 9 in dress shoes or boots, we recommend ordering a US 9 in these as well. If you usually wear a half-size, we would recommend you order down to the nearest whole size.
