Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest mills in Japan. When we search for a perfect Japanese selvedge, we look for a few key things: solid weight, dark indigo start and the potential to wear to the perfect medium blue with great texture. We saw everything we like in the Okayama Standard. This style is a very solid 14.5oz, starts out raw in a deep blue indigo and wears to the mythical medium blue we all want. The fade shots tell the story. The color is stunning, the grain amazing. It even has a great vertical grain when worn in. Throw in a very cool double stitch orange selvedge ID and this is a perfect, traditional Japanese denim. Made in the Okayama Prefecture, this one is perfect all around denim.

This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.

I have Slim, Straight and now a Vintage Straight. The Vintage Straight cut is my new favorite. I was looking for a straight that wasn’t too baggy or too tapered and that had a higher rise. This is the highest rise that Gustin offers and it is great. The rise is really the key aspect of this cut. It is so comfortable and offers excellent coverage. "The standard for a reason. Has all the beautiful imperfections that give character. You can feel the purpose of each stitch (not just flat decorations like in most brands), which provides an excellent body sense (ie. What my body shape could be). Break in took a week of wear after initial wash, about half inch expansion at waist (I'm overweight). Fading is juust starting after a couple months office wear, but i can already feel the whiskers are going to be beautiful. If only every pair of Gustin jeans could match this level."
