Our aprons started out as a thank you gift for some local artisans - our close friends at Blue Bottle Coffee Mint Plaza and Del Popolo Pizza. After having a few made up and seeing how their durability, functionality, and stains told a story of a day's work, we knew we had something special.
This time around, we're using a lighter fabric than we usually use. Though it doesn't have the heft of our typical apron offerings, this Japanese fabric is truly a thing of beauty. Starting with a piece of indigo dyed cloth, the ticking stipe is created using discharge printing process called wabash, which essentially removes indigo in a predetermined pattern. As an indigo dyed fabric, the apron will also fade much like a good pair of raw denim jeans. Starting off as a dark indigo and turning into gorgeous sky blue over time.
The two front pockets mirror those you would find on our jeans and are trimmed with the selvedge ID. The upper utility pocket is a perfect place to keep a thermometer, spoon or pen handy while you take care of business.
The lightweight nature of this apron makes it perfect for making brunch on a Sunday morning to working on projects in the shop. This is easily one of our favorite aprons and we know you'll love it too!
