A truly special wool paired with a vintage Navy style. This is the Acid Rainbow Nep Wool CPO.
Hands down one of the most beautifully unusual wools we've found. The base is a cross between mustard and jet black, creating a rich and earthy muted acid yellow color. It's completely fresh and unlike anything we've seen before. The black creates a subtle shadow effect to contrast the brighter yellow. Step up close and you get a rare surprise - a huge tapestry of colored rainbow neps dotting the surface in green, red and blue. Each garment is unique. The midweight 10 ounce wool base serves as the perfect sweetspot to make this garment usable as a layering piece or standalone jacket.
Each starts with great attention to construction details. Significant flat felling is used throughout, from side-seams to shoulders to sleeves, for a clean finish and added toughness. The front placket, cuffs, collar, yoke and interior map pocket all receive lining using a blue cotton chambray. This gives the garment subtle shadow and contrast. Small side gussets are sewn into the side hems, also from blue cotton/linen chambray, and secured with two bartacks. There are two symmetrical front chest pockets and a single pocket on the left sleeve that gives you a nice place to stash small items. Inside, you get a large side entry pocket from blue chambray. All flap pockets, cuffs and front are secured with aged brass snaps.
The fit is designed to be tailored while still accommodating light weight items underneath. The length is longer than our button downs. We recommend selecting the same size in our CPO as you wear in our jackets. You can size up if you like to layer with thick garments underneath.
