Beefy 14oz Melton wool sewn up in our versatile City Coat. It's tough to find a better winter jacket that can stay with you through any occasion.
This Gustin City Coat is made made out of melton wool from Canada. This style is a beefy 14.0oz wool. The feel of this coat on is just amazing. You sink into its warmth and feel totally protected. The nice thing about wool, even at this weight, is that it still drapes well, maintaining the fitted look of the coat. The slight fuzziness of the wool gives the surface subtle texture. This is a heather grey shade that has great highs and lows, giving it more than a standard solid color look. This shade was born to go with any denim you can throw its way. This could be the ultimate cold weather coat made from the ultimate wool.
We went all out on construction and fit for this coat. We love our Truckers and Chore Coats, but they tend to be squarely in the casual realm. This style combines the best workwear elements of a chore coat with the more refined fit and style cues of a blazer.
Refinement starts with fit and this is our most tailored style yet. It has a slim silhouette that tappers nicely through the body. The sides are darted to help create shape and a lend a nice visual texture. The arms are slender and slightly curved which enhances the crisp look. The shoulders are fitted to create a clean appearance at the top with no excess fabric bunching. Formal lapels lend a refined look while the inclusion of four patch pockets adds a more rugged counter balance. Construction details on this coat were a priority for us. There is significant single needle work to set the lapels and collar perfectly. Inside seams are cleanly finished. There are two single needle sewn interior pockets, each secured with our custom shaped and engraved corozo buttons. There are four patch pockets, each edge set first and then top stitched and secured with bar tacks. This extra setting step ensures there is no excess material coming up around the pockets.
Jackets like ours that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $260 or much higher for wool versions. The efficiency of the Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
