To introduce our new 2020 jackets we wanted to start with something easy to love. For us that means it has to be versatile, usable daily, timeless in style and of course pair well with selvedge denim. We start with an intensely streamlined and clean shape. It has a slight vintage military influence that’s nicely balanced by a more modern minimalism. We use as few seams as required to ensure an ideally tailored fit through the body and arms. Two perfectly placed hand pockets are all that adorn the front. A quality YKK zipper provides closure with a wind blocked back. The zipper leads to a small stand collar. Seams are bound for a clean finish. The only break in the arms is a set-in band on either side to provide a visual offset. The moment you put this jacket on you feel at home. It’s understated and mature. It’s at home with a t-shirt underneath to a crisp button down.

For this introduction, we selected a fabric that enhances the nature of the Shell Jacket, a classic American made-twill, with a twist. The base is a ideally weighted, 8.5oz 3x1 twill. Classic to the core, it’s smooth with a tight twill line. The slightest addition of stretch transforms the comfort level. This is a jacket you can move in. It eases slightly to conform to the body perfectly. If you live in California like me and have no “real winter” it’s the perfect everyday jacket. We all, know you never go out in the Bay Area without needing a jacket at some point - nothing over bearing, but the cool air comes at night. For others, it can act as layering piece in real cold or the perfect season transition. This version in a mushroom colorway.
