#176 Cone American Unsanforized

Gustin jeans made from unsanforzied raw selvedge denim from one of the finest Cone Mills in North Carolina. A story we often hear from our customers is "I remember when I was a kid and used to soak my jeans in the bathtub and then they'd shrink way down to fit me." Our usual response is "No need to do that with your Gustins, most of the fabric we use is sanforized." Not this time. This is a real throwback denim made right in the USA. On the surface, it looks like a sweet, classic selvedge. It has a bright, pure blue indigo shade with a crisp white weft that adds to the overall brightness. At 12.5 oz it's very wearable and has a smooth surface feel. Underneath the surface is the difference. This fabric has not undergone the sanforization process which is used to reduce shrink greatly. You get to buy big, soak them, and get them molded to your body. We recommend going 3 sizes up to account for this shrink, which is based on a 30 minute cold soak and hang dry. If you want to really do it old school you can wear them around wet to ensure they don't shrink up too much during drying. Denim like the old days at great value. Don't miss this one.
