The highly storied 60/40 Mountain Cloth reproduced by one of the best mills in Japan and paired with our Trucker Jacket so it can live on today with you. Don't miss this true retro fabric experience.
60/40 Mountain Cloth is a vintage hero. It emerged in the 60's as what, at the time, would be an improvement over waxed cloth for all-weather performance. It might not match today's tech fabrics, but it was a true advancement for the time. The Holubar style (worn in a famous movie of the era by Robert DeNiro) seared this fabric into many people's memories. All this was the inspiration Japan used to create a classic version of the fabric. All the details are captured perfectly. The impossibly tight weave which gives the fabric structure. The smooth and pliable hand feel for comfort. The subtle shine from the nylon. Of course, the weather, wind and breathability characteristics of the original concept. It was a great fabric when it was created and it still possesses a unique character today. Our Trucker is the perfect paring to enjoy it well.
The overall style is inspired by the classic Type III Trucker Jacket. We give it a more tailored body and add a bit of length in the sleeves so it doesn’t ride up. It's designed to hit right at the waistline for a compact look. It has two side entry single welt pockets on the side and double flap pockets up top. Each flap is secured with our custom Gustin hardware. We also enlarged the interior chest pocket so that it can accommodate larger phones or wallets. Another new addition was the chambray lined cuffs and pockets bags, it just adds to the comfort of the garment. Two side buckles on the waist band are secured by custom buttons. Extensive flat felling is used on seams and all pockets are clean finished.
