Our chore coat using a fabric with one of the most unique construction types you'll find anywhere. Note: due to trademark ownership in the USA vs. Japan, we had to edit the product name/description. We have not changed material color, source, or country of origin.
This chore coat uses cotton cloth from one of the finest mills in Japan. What makes this fabric special is it's incredibly dense weave. The result is a highly breathable, light weight fabric that has great natural wind and water repellent characteristics. The nature of the weave actually makes the fabric compress slightly when wet to keep out the elements. We're using a dark coal colored version for our first offering. We sew it up with tonal stitching to give it a sleek look. This fabric also feels great on. The relatively light weight makes it comfortable and easy to move in, while the the density still keeps you blocked from the wind. It makes for a tremendous warmer weather coat or layering piece for a light rain.
The overall style pays respect to the long tradition of chore coats - functional and understated. As usual, we give our version a more tailored body and make sure the length hits in just the right spot in the middle of your back pockets. It has two full hand pockets on the lower front, each single needle stitched with bar-tacks for added strength. Up top, there is one chest pocket left open and secured with bar tacks. The other chest pocket receives a flap with button closure. Both are also single needle construction. An inside chest pocket lets you tuck away your wallet or phone. Flat felling is used on main seams and all pockets are clean finished.
Jackets like ours that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $260 or higher. The efficiency of the Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
