You asked and today we deliver . . . The Corduroy Trucker Jacket. It was worth the wait because we finally found the perfect corduroy to do this iconic style full justice. To make things even sweeter, it's offered at one of our best jacket values yet.
Since the launch of our Trucker many years ago there has been a passionate request, voiced by many fans of this style -- when is the corduroy version coming? We love that iconic version as much as you do and wanted to make sure we nailed it. To us that meant finding a fabric that combined the right wale, an ideal weight, and a classic color palette. When it comes to corduroy, the wale is everything. It ranges from ultra fine to extra chunky, but for us, the 13 wale is the perfect match for the Trucker. Not too coarse, not too fine. It's wide enough to lend solid texture and ruggedness that enhances the Trucker's workwear roots. We also selected an 8 ounce weight, a real jacket sweet spot. This weight enables you to layer underneath for the winter or to enjoy alone when it just gets a bit brisk out. The natural softness of the corduroy allows this Trucker to drape well and feel great on. Finally a quintessential color is a must - this one a saturated olive green. This is timeless American styling with all the details dialed, including the value.
The overall style is inspired by the classic Type III Trucker Jacket. We give it a more tailored body and add a bit of length in the sleeves so it doesn’t ride up. It's designed to hit right at the waistline for a compact look. It has two side entry single welt pockets on the side and double flap pockets up top. Each flap is secured with our custom Gustin hardware. We also enlarged the interior chest pocket so that it can accommodate larger phones or wallets. Two side buckles on the waist band are secured by custom buttons. Extensive flat felling is used on seams and all pockets are clean finished.
Jackets like ours that are made in the USA using our quality of material and construction are typically priced at $260 or higher. The efficiency of the Gustin model, with your support, lets us do much better.
