#541 The Rainbow Selvedge

Finding great fabric that you likely will never see anywhere else is one of the most unique parts of GUSTIN. This was our first new find that come from our global search for selvedge. A specialty denim mill in China has deftly combined classic, quality raw selvedge roots with an absolute explosion of color. The classic roots start in the warp. A dark midnight indigo. It's as deep as starting point as you find and a great starting color. Starchy and rugged, the 12 ounce weight is a middle ground we've come to respect for it's balance of usability and toughness. The weft is where things take bold and colorful turn. A range of colored yarns are deployed to create a vivid rainbow effect on the backside of the fabric. The pictures tell the full glorious story. You definitely see the rainbow glowing through the top as well, but it's not overpowering. The balance is just right - special but not screamingly loud. Finding this in a 100% cotton, selvedge composition makes it even more special. Enjoy this one.
