Great grey denim from Japan. Our authentic Workshirt style. One of the best values we've offered on a style like this. It's hard to ask for more. Best of all is how well it pairs with your favorite pair of indigo selvedge denim. The Titanium Slub Workshirt.
Workshirts are one of the best showcases for classic raw denim, but sometimes you need to add variety. If you want to pair a workshirt with indigo denim, an alternative color for the workshirt provides a nice contrast. This is when we turn to grey denim. Today's example gets a metallic grey warp and crisp white weft. You get a fresh color while still keeping the traditional denim look. A tight, slubby grain brings the surface to life. The 11 ounce weight is a good sweetspot - heft and wearability. We finish it with classic contrast orange denim thread and an unbeatable value.
Several construction details define our workshirt. The first is ample triple needlework with a classic chain stitch runoff. Triple needle is a specialized stitch not found on standard button downs and serves as the heart of any good work shirt. Ours gets triple need flat felled yoke and side seams with chain stitched bottoms. We also allow the side seam chain stitch to “run off” the end giving you three chain stitch ends on each side. We bar tack to ensure the runoff can’t compromise the security of the side seam. The second detail is double chest pockets. We keep ours a bit cleaner, without flaps, but use button closures and double bar tacks in each corner for added strength. The left chest pocket gets the addition of a small pen slot. The third detail is the side hem gussets. It’s a small functional element and looks great. On our selvedge styles, we incorporate the selvedge on the bottom. Finally, we love the chin strap. Ours is small enough to be tasteful while still reminding you of the workwear roots of the garment. We created new custom Corozo buttons specifically for our work shirts. They’re a deep navy shade with a slightly domed top and two holes for securing. Overall, this is one of our most intricately constructed garments and one of the most costly to produce.
Our workshirts are available in our Classic and Slim fits. The main differences in details between our workshirts and our other shirting come down to construction - no back box pleat, and differently shaped side scoops. The Slim fit has a more tailored body as compared to our Classic fit. Chest and waist come in to provide a more fitted option. Details are in our fit guide.

Customer Feedback on #172 TITANIUM SLUB WORKSHIRT
"Love this shirt, took a while but worth the wait."
-Sean P. | Verified Buyer
"If you’re looking for an overly engineered shirt that will last, looks great, and fits well check this out. Details such as triple threading and quality fabric make this shirt stand out. The blue-grey hue is quite unique and bridges the line between work and business casual. At 5’10”/ 180lbs I found a size medium fit well. It has a tailored appearance similar to a western cut. I’d normally get a size large in Japanese cuts. The fabric has a nice weight that’s feels great in hand and has a middle weight. The only frivolous detail this shirt has is its’ collar tab that seems to serve little to no purpose; I suspect if your top button is too snug this would give more freedom if you require it to be buttoned fully. It sure took a long time to produce."

"I'm around six three and 235 and maybe 15-20 pounds overweight and a Classic Fit XXL is a very good fit."
-Mark N. | Verified Buyer
"This is my first Gustin product. The good news is, I am not too fat or too tall for this shirt! Length is good. Not tight. Collar is a little big around my neck, but not a substantial issue. The shirt is really stiff, but I expected that out of the bag. The material seems heavy. It is late summer right now, and it is for the most part too warm to wear in 80 and above weather, but maybe when it softens that will change. It was tough to unbutton the shirt. There seemed to be threads that still looped around the buttons even after I thought I unfastened them. I don't know if this is a flaw, or just how these shirts function brand new. My wife thinks the shirt looks good, and I am glad to have made the purchase. I will give four stars for right now because a five star review would require this shirt to be 10 years old and still looking good/functioning well."

"My 1968s came in the mail yesterday…They're amazing! From the fit (thank you for all the hand-holding!) to the detailing, I'm blown away. Just tremendous quality at any price point, but the value here is off the charts."
