#958 Shibori Dye Stars Short Sleeve Shirt - White

Shibori dye techniques are thought to date back to the eighth century in Japan. As a class of resist-dye methods, the fabric is tied in various patterns to allow the dye to penetrate certain areas and not others. In the USA, we call it tie dyed. The hallmark of the technique is flowing patterns ranging from simple lines to complex repeating shapes. We love the fundamentally organic style that results from this old-world, manual technique. Here we use reactive dyes, which represent the Shibori look.

Our short sleeve button-up fits just like the long sleeved. It shares the same beautifully tailored body, not too slim, but fitted. High armholes keep the body lines clean. A very gently scooped bottom hem that works wonderfully un-tucked or tucked. A no-button collar that’s perfectly sized to sit well.

We labor over every construction detail. Extensive single needle stitching is used throughout. All our closures are made from true mother of pearl. The front placket is also pleated, made correctly, using a true two piece construction. The feel is more substantial and the effort higher, but it's the right way. A rounded chest pocket completes the front.
