Our selvedge apron started out as a thank you gift for some local artisans - our close friends at Blue Bottle Coffee and Del Popolo Pizza. After having a few made up and seeing the durability, functionality, and stains told a story of a day's work, we knew we had something special.
Broken twill weave was used by Wrangler in the 60's in an attempt to combat the leg twist you get in left or right hand twills. The broken twill means you don't see a well defined twill line on either front or back surfaces which gives this fabric a different character. On top of this old-school construction it's a real beast. A 13.5 ounce extra starched base instantly creates a burly, rugged feel. It's tough and ready to take anything you throw its way. There is a great, grainy texture on the surface which allows the the white weft to shine through. The warp is equally special - a pale olive that reminds us of classic military olive drab. We know you will love this hardy fabric.
Whether you are a bar back, a grill master, or you just plain like to tinker this apron is for you. The two front pockets mirror those you would find on our jeans and are trimmed with the selvedge ID. The upper utility pocket is marked with a Gustin leather patch. Finally, the solid brass hardware allows you to adjust the fit to your liking while adding a bit of flash. We love these aprons and we are sure you will too.
