Black warp, white weft, amazing texture -- this is timeless black denim from Japan at a great value.
Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge denim from one of the finest mills in Japan. Much of what draws us to a fabric is the way it feels. We love denim with depth and this black version from Japan manages to create a classic base with just the right amount of character to take it to another level. It starts with a deep black warp and crisp white weft. This keeps a traditional denim look while giving you a great alternative to your blue selvedge. Texture is really what makes this fabric. You can see tremendously long slubby yarns in the warp which raise areas of the fabric surface. You can feel this each time you touch the material and it serves to create great depth. There is also nice cross hatching throughout. All this lends a complexity of texture to a classic base. At 13 ounces with a good amount of starch you get a sturdy, crispy base to break in. A classic red ID finishes it off. All this great color and texture at a solid value.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.
