Heavy, indigo selvedge canvas is a rare bird. When it comes from our friends at Cone Mills, we'd put it in the collector fabric status. As you can see it sews up into one sweet pair of jeans.
Gustin jeans made from sanforized raw selvedge canvas from Cone Mills in Greensboro, NC. As much as we love denim, we've come to appreciate the way a high quality canvas can hold its own. What is a quality canvas to us? For pants we want heavy weight. This style is a very solid 10.75 ounces. It has a nice amount of starch, which adds to the rugged feel. Next comes the dye - you know our favorite - indigo, and this style has it. It's an incredibly inky deep blue and will age beautifully over time. Finally, a selvedge composition puts the style over the top. The ID on this style is beefy. White dominates, but you see indigo, as well as a thin red ticker on the inside. We're sewing these up in our denim cut with rivets to keep the overall workwear theme going. This is a superb traditional denim alternative and an extra rare style that you won't see around.
This is the same style and quality that was sold in boutiques all over the country for $205+.
